These directions are for AOL Instant Messenger. Some other Instant Messaging programs might have different ways of getting your new icon. Of course, feel free to use your icon wherever you like it!

Windows users:

• Right-click on the icon you like and download it to disk.
• In AOL Instant Messenger, go to "My AIM."
• Select "Edit Options," then "Edit Preferences."
• Select Buddy Icon.
• Insert icon save to disk.
• Enjoy your new Instant Messenger Icon!

Mac Users:

• Click-and-hold the icon you like and save it to your desktop.
• Open your Preferences menu and select "My Account Settings."
• Click on "Buddy Icons."
• In the Buddy Icons menu where you can select an icon to use, click "Open Icons Folder." It will open a window with all your icon graphics.
• On your computer desktop, open up the folder where you downloaded your new icon.
• Drag the new icon into the Icons folder.
• Back in the Buddy Icons menu, select your new icon from the pulldown menu.
• Enjoy your new Instant Messenger Icon!
